In the secondary stage, mucous plaques have been reported as the most predominant clinical manifestation, preferably located on the lips, tongue, buccal mucosa, and palate. Ulcerated lesions, nodular and maculopapular lesions could also be observed 5,25 . According to Carmona M. et al, in this stage papules predominated in 57.8%, followed by ulcers in 36.8% and keratosis in 5.2% 30 . Tertiary oral syphilis has manifested as gumma and atrophic lutic glossitis, and less frequently as syphilitic.
